From Figma to Launch in Three Weeks: How Cousin St. Built a Storefront Its Designer Called Perfect

Cousin St.'s founder designed every detail of her new site in Figma. Zettler Digital built it on a heavily customized Prestige theme in three weeks — in what she called the smoothest UI build she'd ever witnessed.

About Cousin St.

Cousin St. is a Berkeley, California home goods shop built on the nostalgia of family gatherings. Founded in 2022 by Erin Girard, the shop pairs its own Cousin St. Originals line — marbled enamel pitchers, bowls and platters — with vintage finds, frames, silver, glassware and gifts, all chosen to be kept, repaired and passed down.

Erin brought years of experience as a product designer to the brand, and she designed every detail of the new site herself in Figma. What she needed was a Shopify development partner who could build it exactly as designed.

The Challenge

Bringing a Product Designer's Vision to Life, Detail for Detail

Cousin St. was moving to Shopify's Prestige theme for the first time, with a full set of custom Figma designs to implement. These weren't light reskins. The designs reworked layouts, navigation, color behavior and the small interactions that make a site feel considered: how a button responds, how a product card moves, how a swatch reacts to a cursor.

When the client is a professional designer, close enough doesn't pass. Every hover state, spacing decision and breakpoint had to match the intent of the files — and the added motion couldn't come at the cost of performance.

The Solution

A Heavily Customized Prestige Theme, Built Straight From Figma

Figma-Faithful ImplementationZettler Digital translated Erin's designs into a heavily modified Prestige theme, rebuilding layouts and matching typography, spacing and front-end elements to the files across every template.

Redesigned Mega MenuOn desktop, the mega menu was completely redesigned, giving the team room to feature new content without a developer. On mobile, it behaves differently and surfaces horizontally scrollable featured content that wasn't available on mobile before.

Page Takeover SectionA custom section changes a page's color scheme when its settings are present, and only on that page. The team uses it across content-focused pages to give editorial stories their own look while the rest of the site stays consistent.

Scrolling Announcement BarThe announcement bar was rebuilt to scroll content continuously, giving promotions and store news more visibility.

Hover and Motion DetailsButtons, product cards and variant swatches each received custom hover animations built to the designs — small touches that make the site feel as tactile as the objects it sells.

Performance Without CompromiseThe added motion was engineered to keep the experience fast and stable, with every Core Web Vital remaining in Google's "Good" range after launch.

The Results

Launched in Half the Time, Built to Spec

Cousin St. launched on August 21, 2026, about three weeks after kickoff — half of Zettler Digital's standard six-week window for a build of this scope. The finished site matched the designer's own files closely enough that she called it perfect.

In the first eight weeks after launch, as Zettler Digital's paid media nearly doubled site traffic, the new storefront held strong performance and moved more shoppers toward checkout.

  • Launched in ~3 weeks against a standard 6-week timeline
  • All Core Web Vitals in Google's "Good" range: LCP 1.02s, INP 64ms, CLS 0
  • Layout shift eliminated entirely (CLS from 0.01 to 0)
  • Reached-checkout rate up 9% after launch
  • Completed checkouts up 47% as traffic nearly doubled
  • 3 Weeks

from Figma to launch, half the standard timeline

  • +47%

completed checkouts in the first 8 weeks

  • 3/3

Built Without Compromise

Cousin St. shows what happens when a precise design vision meets a development partner who respects it. By building Erin's Figma designs faithfully on Prestige — in half the usual time and without sacrificing performance — Zettler Digital gave the brand a storefront as considered as the pieces on its shelves. The partnership continues today across Google Ads, Meta Ads and Klaviyo retention.
